Sharkey's Fish Locker

Sharkey's Fish Locker opened in 2002 and started as a strictly fish processing store. Over the years, we have slowly grown into a Take-Out restaurant, offering fish, frozen meals, and our famous fish and chips! After perfecting our top-secret, home made batter, Barb opened the doors to fish and chips in 2006.

  Our owner, Barb Hague, is originally from Quebec but moved to BC in 1971. It wasn't until 1973, when she was working in Prince Rupert at a cannary that she met her now husband Doug, and fell in love with commercial fishing. Barb and Doug led their crew of deckhands into becoming some of the best commercial fisherman on the west coast.

  Once they finally settled into life on the Sunshine Coast, Barb came up with the idea of opening Sharkey's as a fish processing store. It wasn't long after that a small garage carrying only fish turned into a well-known Take-Out Restaurant serving people from all around the Sunshine Coast, and world. Alongside selling some of the best fish the Sunshine Coast has to offer, Barb spreads her knowledge of the fishing industry with customers and friends in order to make a difference. 

  All of our fish is fresh and local, caught by Doug and Barb, and two of their closest friends.
